Parents, Guardians, Students and Alumni:
Wow! Is it good to be home! My name is Roberta Lockhart and I have been named principal of DHS for the 2009-2010 school year. After a five year stint as principal of Sundown Mountain Alternative Education Program, I have returned to DHS where I spent my first ten years in Arizona as a teacher, coach, dean and assistant principal.
The 2009-2010 school year promises to be one of rigor, relevance, relationships and reflection. Through the philosophy of “every student, every day” the teachers and staff at DHS will significantly touch the lives of your sons and daughters.
It has been a difficult spring and summer. Budget cuts have forced school districts to make tough decisions. Thankfully, our district was able to maintain 2008-09 staffing ratios, absorbing the cuts elsewhere. As we begin the new school year, let us be thankful that we have been able to maintain our programs, athletics and other extracurricular activities. While times are tough, we will persevere.
Dysart High School is a school of strong tradition, values and excellence. We are Dysart; the people, the family, the tradition. Together we must reflect on the past and build our future. The future looks bright!
I look forward to getting to know each and every one of you. If I can be of service in any way, please contact me. Here’s to a fantastic school year!
GO DEMONS!
Roberta “Bobbie” Lockhart
Principal, Dysart High School
