Being on Time
Parents:  We need your assistance in ensuring that your child arrives to school on time.  Our first hour tardies are especially bad.  We have taken steps to ensure the safe and timely arrival of all students, including rerouting parent drop-off.  The first bell rings at 710AM.  Please plan your arrival time for 7 to 705AM.  Thank you!

Bus Info
All Dysart busses equipped with A/C
While state law does not require air conditioning on school busses, all Dysart busses are equipped with air conditioning. The air conditioning on each district bus is designed to lower the temperature 15 degrees. Depending on the outside temperature, district busses may feel cooler or hotter on any given day; however, the air conditioning on the bus is cooling the bus down 15 degrees. Students are asked to keep windows on the bus rolled up so as not to let out the cool air provided by the air conditioning system. The bus air conditioning system may not cool to the same as a car; it does keep students cooler than the outside temperature.

NEW STUDENT drop off
Date Posted: 8/20/2010

Drop OFF Letter
Dear Dysart Parents:

If you have visited campus in the morning to drop off a student or in the afternoon to pick up a student then you are aware that we have a safety issue. As safety is our number one concern, we are implementing a new parent drop off procedure. Effective Monday, August 23, 2010 students will no longer be allowed to be dropped off in front of the office. Further, students will no longer be allowed to be dropped off at the south end of campus. Students must be dropped off at the north end of campus between the 2000 and 3000 buildings. This student drop off location is optimal for student access to campus and allows parents to pull into a separate lane away from the two way flow of traffic. After dropping your student off you are to proceed around the parking lot and back out the way that you entered.

I have attached a map on the reverse of this letter to clarify the expectations. I want to thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding. I hope that you feel as I do that Dysart High School is a wonderful place for young people and we will do everything in our power to provide a safe and respectful learning environment. Please feel free to contact me at any time.

Eliminate Activity Bus
The continuing state budget cuts mandate changes in Dysart Unified School District’s standards of services and programs. The reduction of state funding to education for the 2010-2011 school year will make it necessary for the District to eliminate After School Activity Bus. Students will have to provide their own transportation home for after school activities. We regret the inconvenience this may cause.
