Fire drills & lockdown


Through our commitment to school safety, our school regularly conducts both fire drills and lockdown drills.  Please understand that during these drills, our office will not be available for phone calls or other front office services such as checking students in/out of school.  Typically, these drills last between five and fifteen minutes.  During this time, we would ask that you remain in the parking area, off school grounds, until an all clear has been issued.  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Student/Parent Handbook Correction

Please note the following revisions to the 2009-2010 Student and Parent Handbook:

1) On page 30 in the discipline matrix for grades 7-12, the following infraction was inadvertently left off the matrix:

	1^st Offense	2^nd Offense	3^rd Offense
Leaving Campus without Authorization/Unauthorized Absence/Truancy	Notify Parent Detention One (1) Day Susp	Three (3) Day Susp	Five (5) Day Susp

2) On page 21 in the discipline matrix for grades K-2, the first infraction should be:

	1^st Offense	2^nd Offense	3^rd Offense
Alcohol (use and/or possession)	Same as what’s in matrix	Same as what’s in matrix	Same as what’s in matrix

immunizations

Attention Parents/Guardians

Important! Student Immunization Information

In order to help our families in the Dysart Unified School District comply with State Immunization requirements. Clinic Hours are 9am to 4pm Monday through Friday. The clinic is located at:
Dysart Elementary School
12950 W. Varney Road
El Mirage, AZ 85335

No child will be allowed to attend school without one of the following pieces of documentation in their file:

· Documentation of the required up to date immunizations as recommended by the Department of Health Services

· Is actively in the process of meeting the criteria (documentation of the initial dose with a schedule for completion of the immunizations )

· An exemption from Immunization is submitted and on file

Please address any questions you may have regarding the immunization to your school nurse. 623-876-7504
