Suns Tickets

 

Hello Friends and Family…Please join RIVERVIEW and FRIENDS as we invade Planet ORANGE!    SPREAD THE WORD!
 
This has been an awesome opportunity for our students at Riverview.  Riverview has been chosen by the Phoenix Suns as it official west valley school.  As a result, Riverview students and staff were treated to a Phoenix Suns assembly on October 28th.  During the assembly, the Phoenix Suns Gorilla, dancers, and dunk team performed for the students and staff.  Additionally, former Sun Eddie Johnson, spoke to the students about the importance of respect and displaying the character trait in all aspects of their lives. Students and ticket holders will be treated as well to some special Game Day Perks!  All 200 ticket holders will be able to enter the arena 30 minutes prior to the general public and sit behind courtside to watch warm-ups of both teams, a group photo will be taken, each ticket holder will receive a jersey back bag, and we will be announced on the screens during the game.  We have sections 230/231 rows 3-13 for this game.  This is going to be a great night!
 
Just a reminder J that our Phoenix Suns tickets will only be on sell until this Friday (PAYDAY) the 13th!  We are committed to selling 200 and are off to a great start.  Please be sure that all of your orders are in to me or Rose in the front office by Friday.  We have a had a good support from other schools and our local El Mirage Police Department but we are still needing to SELL a lot more!  You can also choose to “sponsor” a student and purchase a $30 ticket.  We will have 1-2 buses that will be able to transport the students to the game.  Thank you to all of those that have volunteered to ride the bus and chaperone these kidos!  Please let your students know that the bus is an option to get to the game in case their whole family does not want to purchase tickets.   Please spread the word, ask friends and family if they would like to buy tickets too…we are selling to everyone! J  Please let me know if you have any questions.  If you are paying by check make it out to “Riverview PTSA” and make sure that the information sheet on the back of the flyer is filled out so we know who to deliver the tickets too.  I have attached the order form and flyer again in case you need it!
 
 **We will have the tickets on hand on Tuesday November 17th and will continue our sales until they are gone!  Due to this just going out to many you may continue to purchase tickets until we are sold out!
 
This is going to be a great game as the SUNS take on the San Antonio Spurs on December 15th at 7pm.  For those of you who live out of town or throughout the valley just drop your order form and payment in the mail if you are interested in purchasing tickets!  You can mail it to:                           Riverview PTSA

Veteran's Day Program
 
Riverview School in El Mirage will be presenting its second annual Veterans Celebration on Tuesday, November 10 at 1:30 in the school gymnasium. This program is free and is open to the public. We encourage all local and area Veterans to attend and be honored by our students.
Mr. Roy Delgado; El Mirage City Councilman, will serve as host, and Mr. Stu Brackney; former Captain US Army will be the guest speaker.
The Riverview Barracuda Choir and Third Grade Students will present a musical program under the direction of Mrs. Karen Gudeman, Riverview Music Teacher.

Reading Under the Stars
Riverview’s “Reading Under the Stars” The Reading Leadership Team at Riverview School sponsored a fun-filled family night of “Reading Under the Stars.” The event brought families to the school wearing pajamas and toting blankets, books, flashlights, and snacks. Parents and children enjoyed the opportunity to read together under the stars using their flashlights. Families could also listen to teachers, and the Cat in the Hat, read from big books. Students were able to buy fun bookmarks, glow necklaces and bracelets, and popcorn as well. The Reading Leadership Team gave away free books to the first 125 children through the gates! We are excited about the success of this first family literacy night and cannot wait until next quarter’s literacy night! Thank you to everyone who came out to support this event!

Reading Night
The Riverview Reading Leadership Team is proud to introduce our first Family Reading Night of the school year-- Reading Under the Stars!  Please put Wednesday, October 14th on your calendar to come help us celebrate reading with our Riverview families.  Families may come in pajamas with snacks, blankets, books, and flashlights to sit under the stars and read together.  A sign-up sheet will be posted in the downstairs workroom for those who may be willing to help out at the event.  Families will be here from 6:30-7:30 but we will need help setting up before and cleaning up afterwards.  We will be selling glow necklaces and probably popcorn.  If you have any questions about Reading Under the Stars, please contact myself, Danielle Whitman, Sarita Sellner, Pat Maas, Katie Chambers, or Nicole Perez.

Parking Lot Safety
Parking Lot Safety Reminders
                Student safety is paramount to the success of all Dysart students and schools. Ensuring that students are safe in all school environments is a priority for all Dysart staff. To assist parents and students with student safety in school parking lots, safety procedures in the parking lot and drop off lane are provided by each school. Additionally, parents and students should follow these guidelines:
·         Always proceed with caution in all school parking lots and drop off lanes
·         Follow the direction of school personnel while dropping off or picking up students
·         Students should only enter and exit vehicles on the curbside. Please do not have students walk around vehicles to enter a car or while exiting
·         Parents and students are to cross the drop off lane only in designated areas. At no time should students or parents weave in between cars while crossing the drop off lane
·         Students should be accompanied by parents while in the parking lot
·         Please adhere to school regulations and procedures for each individual parking lot and drop off lane

Recordatorios sobre la Seguridad en el Estacionamiento     
            La seguridad estudiantil es primordial para el éxito de todos los estudiantes y las escuelas del Distrito Dysart. El asegurarnos que los estudiantes estén protegidos en todos los entornos escolares es una prioridad para todo el personal de Dysart. Para ayudar a los padres de familia y a los estudiantes con la seguridad estudiantil en los estacionamientos escolares, cada escuela provee los procedimientos de seguridad para el estacionamiento y el carril para dejar estudiantes. Adicionalmente, los padres de familia y los estudiantes deben seguir estas directrices:
·         Proceder siempre con precaución en todos los estacionamientos escolares y en los carriles para dejar estudiantes
·         Seguir las indicaciones del personal escolar mientras están dejando o recogiendo estudiantes
·         Los estudiantes solamente deben subir o bajar de los vehículos en la banqueta. Por favor no permitan que los estudiantes caminen alrededor de los vehículos para subir o bajar de un auto
·         Los padres de familia y los estudiantes deben cruzar el carril para dejar estudiantes solamente en las áreas designadas. Los estudiantes o los padres de familia en ningún momento deben zigzaguear entre los autos mientras están cruzando el carril para dejar estudiantes
·         Los estudiantes deben estar acompañados por sus padres mientras están en el estacionamiento
Por favor adhiéranse a las regulaciones y los procedimientos escolares que aplican de manera individual para cada estacionamiento y carril para dejar estudiantes
