Transportation Notice

All Dysart busses equipped with A/C
While state law does not require air conditioning on school busses, all Dysart busses are equipped with air conditioning. The air conditioning on each district bus is designed to lower the temperature 15 degrees. Depending on the outside temperature, district busses may feel cooler or hotter on any given day; however, the air conditioning on the bus is cooling the bus down 15 degrees. Students are asked to keep windows on the bus rolled up so as not to let out the cool air provided by the air conditioning system. The bus air conditioning system may not cool to the same as a car; it does keep students cooler than the outside temperature.

Desert Moon would like to introduce its new principal.......Rodney Johnson


Rodney Johnson received his Master of Arts in Educational Leadership degree from Northern Arizona University and has six years of experience as a school administrator. He also served as a middle school teacher for 11 years for the Flagstaff Unified and Yuma School Districts.

Parents,
 Starting May 1st there will no more charges allowed to your child’s school meal accounts. Also, personal checks will not be accepted, meals need to be paid by cash at the school sites or online using meal pay plus which can be accessed at www.dysart.org. If you have any questions please call your schools cafeteria.
Again, starting May 1st: no checks will be accepted and meals 
will not be allowed to be charged. Thank you.

Read Across America!

Dr. Seuss School Spirit Week
Celebrate Read Across America Week!
Daily incentives for participation.

(*Note:  Clothing must fall within the guidelines of the district dress code.)

  Monday, March 1st:  Wear your pajamas to school day!  Start your reading!  Everyone who tracks their reading and returns their "Project: Read 20,000" forms will be entered into a drawing the following Monday.

Tuesday, March 2nd:  CRAZY Hat Day OR wear Red, Black, and White to celebrate Dr. Seuss' Birthday!  Breakfast at school at 8:00 AM.  come eat Green Eggs & Ham!  Parents are invited to come to breakfast and bring their favorite Dr. Seuss book to read to their child. (Breakfast prices are:  $1.25 per adult, .75 per student) There will be a drawing to win a Dr. Seuss book.  Watch for the special guest walking around!  
(Note: Hats must be removed upon teacher request.)

  Wednesday, March 3rd:  Be Creative:  CRAZY HAIR DAY!!  Keep Reading!  Don't forget to fill out and return your "Project:  Read 20,000," forms.  
Reminder:  Book fair in the Library starting next Monday, March 8th thru the 12th!

  Thursday, March 4th:  Wear your CRAZY socks today!  Tune out your TV night!  Your name will entered into a drawing for a prize when you return your verification slip, (sent home Monday, March 1st) after your family has tuned out the TV and read for a night!

Friday, March 5th:  Show your schoool spirit today.  Wear your Desert Moon spirit shirt or school colors, BLUE, YELLOW and BLACK!

-Firefighters will be reading to all students during lunch!
-PTSA has spirit shirts for sale.  Contact PTSA for yours today!

Each gram cost $.50 and comes with a sweet treat and a personal message.
Sale ends Feb. 10th and the grams will be delivered to each student on Friday Feb. 12th.
