Dear Parents and Students,
Welcome to Sunset Hills Elementary School, a school committed to excellence. It is with great excitement and anticipation that I welcome you to another outstanding school year. Our amazing team of teachers and support staff are anxious to work together to continue our journey of excellence, centered upon academic achievement and preparing our students for the 21st century. We have much to celebrate as our students continue to improve in our Arizona AIMS assessment, nearly doubling the amount of students exceeding the standards from 2009!
As we work together I strongly encourage students to become involved in before and after school clubs, student organizations, as well as athletics. I invite parents and family members to be an active part of their child's education by supporting them at home, asking about new learning, volunteering, being a part of our fantastic PTO or asking our office staff about other opportunities to become involved. Character Education is prominent on our campus to stress the importance of the six pillars of trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship.
