Sharing our Academic Excellence
Academic Galleries
Cimarron Students are recognized at the ISTE, International Society for Technology in Education, conference in Denver, Colorado. Mrs. Goodman presented 8th grade Academic Galleries at the ISTE conference on June, 2010. Participants were able to see a video of Cierra Casani and Chase Cocking presenting their academic gallery. Participants were then able to view Academic Galleries created by Jesse Hardy, James Escobar, Kalten Chism, and Anastasia Armenta. The participants were impressed with the Academic Galleries that served as student portfolios. Mrs. Goodman handed out the 398 fliers she had made and there were more people interested in the students work. Thank you last year’s eight graders and this year’s High School Freshmen. (Good Luck from Cimarron Springs.) Great Job! We had about 400 participants from all over the world view your work.
Student Websites
Student portfolios in the format of a website were also viewed by conference participants. Mrs. Goodman was able to share student websites that were created by Cimarron Students last year. The website contains student work from the last 3 years. Each year we hope to have all students adding their portfolio. Mrs. Fleming’s Kindergartener’s website was a video of them reading. Third, 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th grade websites were a big hit with the participants. Congratulations to all the students that shared their website by making it public on our school website. You can view those websites on the Library Media Page under Student work. Expect to see more student academic portfolio websites this year. Websites not listed may be seen by invitation only.
Library Media, Library Media, Read All about it.
The Library Media Center would like to thank the Cimarron Springs PTO for purchasing more Scholastic books for the library. The books were bought last year from their Book Fair Money. Now the Library is looking for volunteers to help catalog the books. If the Library were on Facebook, we would be asking you to be our friend. So be our friend by helping out in the library.

If you are a dreamer, come in
If you are a dreamer, a wisher, a liar,
A hope-er a pray-er, a magic bean buyer...
If you _re a pretender, come sit by my fire
For we have some flax-golden tales to spin.

Please contact Mrs. Goodman, lgoodman@dysart.org if you are interested in volunteering in the library. We have openings for any day, any time, and we can use your help even if its 15 minutes a day. You can even adopt a section of the library to check on periodically. We are an equal opportunity Library Media.
