ART CLUB

COME AND JOIN US!
ART CLUB
We have TWO Art Clubs here at Countryside!  Art Club enhances the artistic ability of Countryside students in order to help them participate in various art contests and shows.  In the past, Art Club students have successfully achieved several art awards.  Art Club members have also helped other teachers and clubs decorate and make posters for different activities throughout the year.

Art Club #1 meets every Tuesday from 3:15 - 4:00 pm in the Art Room.  Art Club #1 will begin meeting on Tuesday, September 15th

Art Club #2 meets every Wednesday from 3:15 - 4:00 pm in the Art Room.  Art Club #2 will begin meeting on Wednesday, September 16th.

Students must have parents pick them up at 4:15 pm, ride the activity bus or walk home.

Art Club dues are $5.00 and is open to all students at Countryside.  If any kindergarteners are interested in joining, and older sibling must attend as well.

WRITER'S CLUB
THE YOUNG WRITER'S CLUB   JOIN THE COUNTRYSIDE WRITER'S CLUB!

Ms. Hickey, our School Monitor, is also a multi-published author and is volunteering her time to start a Writer's Club here at Countryside.  Over the course of the year, students will be coached in writing a novel from start to finish!  

The Writer's Club is open to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students.  The Writer's Club will meet every Thursday from 3:15 to 4:15 pm in Room 102.

Writer's Club Fee is $5.00

CHOIR

Wailing Coyote Choir

Choir is open to all 4th - 8th grade students and meets on Wednesdays from 3:15 - 4:15 pm.  This will change beginning in January as we preare for our musical!  An additional schedule for those participating in the school musical will be sent home at that time.

Students must obtain and fill out paperwork.  The fee is $10.00 per student ($5.00 club fee and $5.00 for a t-shirt.)

All choir studetns must be picked up by 4:15, ride the activity bus or walk home after practice is over.

Our first meeting is Wednesday, September 2nd in Room 201.

DRAMA CLUB

Drama Club meets the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month and is open to 4th - 8th graders.

Meetings are from 3:15-4:15

Students will meet Miss Haag in the Courtyard after school
 

Members must either walk, get picked up or take the activity bus home from each meeting
 

This schedule does not include rehearsals for any performances members are a part of, an additional rehearsal schedule will be provided

NJHS


NJHS.gif   The National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) is one of the nation's premier organizations established to recognize outstanding middle level students. The Countryside NJHS charter recognizes students for their academic accomplishments and challenges them to develop further through active involvement in school activities and community service as role models and leaders. 

6th and 7th grade students are eligible to apply for NJHS in the spring. 

NJHS meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month from 3:15 to 4:15 pm in the Library. NJHS will start meeting on September 1st.

NEHS
 NEHS Logo The National Elementary Honor Society (NEHS) recognizes the accomplishments of fourth, fifth and sixth grade students. The Countryside NEHS members must maintain a grade point average of 3.0 or above and participate in leadership and service activities. 

Students in the 3rd, 4th and 5th grade may apply for NEHS membership in November.

NEHS meets on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month from 3:15 to 4:15 pm in the library.  NEHS will start meeting on September 8th.
