All Dysart Busses Equipped with A/C
While state law does not require air conditioning on school busses are equipped with air conditioning.  The air conditioning on each district bus is designed to lower the temperature 15 degrees.  Depending on the outside temperature, district busses may feel cooler or hotter on any given day; however, the air conditioning on the bus is cooling the bus down 15 degrees.  Students are asked to keep windows on the bus rolled up so as not to let out the cool air provided by the air conditioning system.  The bus air conditioning system may not cool to the same as a care; it does keep students cooler than the outside temperature.

Kingswood Student Council
Kingswood Student Council is collaborating with the City of Surprise to better our community. The City of Surprise supplied Kingswood with recycle bins to our needs. All classrooms and workrooms have a bin in them. Throughout the day students and teachers toss recycle items into the bins. Student Council collect the recycle bins on Friday and the City of Surprise does a pick up on Mondays. Our school is working with its community to make it greener and brighter every day.

At Kingswood Physical Education ROCKS!!!  Kinder Students are having a blast in P.E. with Mrs. Morais. Students are grasping the concept of laterality, body awareness, personal and general space; while at the same time they get to play with colorful balloons. While music is playing in the background the students are moving around…the teacher gives the commands: hit your balloon with your right hand, now use your left foot, how about hitting the balloon with your head and etc…The Gym is a happy place for learning at the same time our students can develop their locomotor and nonlocomotor skills.

Our 3rd through 8th graders are now taking the “Fitness gram” test, this test measures the students cardio-vascular, muscle strength and flexibility capacities, giving them parameters to improve their results as the school year progress. They learn about Health fitness zone and a variety of ways to improve their health through nutrition and exercise. It is amazing to see that most of our students are really interested in learning all about this topic.

Mrs. Morais says, “I’m very proud to be a part of this program and making a difference and impact these kids’ lives forever.”

Kindergarten:

Kindergarten classes stayed very busy the first week of school.  They toured the school, learned how to use the playground, visited special area classrooms, and learned how to use the cafeteria. They are learning about getting along with others as they learn to follow the rules at school.   Kindergarteners are already settling into their routines and schedules in their full day program.  The first week brought much excitement and the kindergarten teachers are looking forward to a great year!
